Make Mother's & Father's Day Better this year....

Even though I have been a photographer for quite a few years, and I know and explain to my clients ALL the time about how important photos are for capturing memories and moments in time, I have a sad confession. I have not been in many photographs with my family for quite a while, except for selfies with my daughter and a family photo I took with my camera on the timer setting about 6 years ago. This is both disappointing and just plain heartbreaking, to be honest. I was more aware of this because my dad passed away right before Christmas, and I can't find any photos of the two of us together since I was about 7. This is extremely difficult to accept. We always assume we have plenty of time to do all the things we want to do, but then all of a sudden, everything changes and the opportunities have ended. This is why I want to appeal to all of you out there that still have your Mom and Dad here, to not only give them the gift of your time during a special session with us, (and any chance you possibly can), but to give the gift of documenting that special moment in time with photographs that will mean more to you than anything else could someday when they are no longer here. I wish I could go back in time and ask someone to take pictures of me and my Dad, but all I can do is help others capture the things that matter and help them learn from my regrets.
